Cd Release - Norwegian Songs On Simax
Bergen Tidende, 16 September 2009
In 1985 Edward Grieg said to Bergen Tidende that he had met a lyrical gifted talent of high rank: Catharinus Elling (1858-1942)
On the disc Ann-Helen Moen demonstrates that these songs deserve to be performed again. But it is also due to the interpretation of Ann-Helen Moen. She sings them very convincingly - with a secure carrying voice, with clear and utmost musical frasing that lends characterization of feelings and atmospheres to the lyrics. And Gunilla Süssmann gets the most our of the piano part.
