Biography

Victoria Navas brilliant dramatic soprano is rooted in the Italian singing tradition but also has the stamina for Wagner.

Victoria Nava has performed Elisabetta DON CORLOS at Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as well as at Den Norske Opera and at the Freiburg Opera. Her opera performances also include Santuzza CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA at Musikteatret in Trondheim and Tosca at Oscarsborg Operaen, Norway. Here she also recently performed Aida.

She made her professional opera debut as Mimi in Cesena, Italy and the following two years she was a part of the prestigious Vilar Young Artist Programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Here she got her debut as Sacerdotessa AIDA, Marguerite FAUST, Freia RHINGOLD, Liù TURANDOT, Desdemona OTHELLO, the female Chorus in Britten’s LUCRETIA, Antonia TALES OF HOFFMANN, Ellen PETER GRIMES, Yvette LA RONDINE, First lady THE MAGIC FLUTE, Katerina i Martinůs’ THE GREEK PASSION.

In the concert repertoire Victoria Nava has performed Verdi REQUIEM with Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Strauss FOUR LAST SONGS with Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra and 9th Symphony by Beethoven with Bergen Symphony Orchestra. She has been engaged by all the most important orchestras in Scandinavia, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, State Academy Symphony Orchestra of Russia og Russian Philharmonia i Moscow.
This season she is singing Antonia TALES OF HOFFMANN at Den Ny Opera in Bergen, a coproduction with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra.

Victoria Nava graduated with a degree in singing from the Academy of Music in Pesaro, Italy and the Royal Opera Academy, Denmark. She grew up in Trondheim and is now based in Bergen, Norway after several years abroad.
